Solas Cancer Care – Film for Life 2019
NOTE : This is an old post but I have left it on the site in order to highlight Solas Cancer Care Waterford as a worthy charity to support and also I hope to do more fundraising for this charity in the future. Due to Covid-19 there was no Film For Life 2020 but hopefully I will be posting details of Film for Life 2021 here very soon.
Solas Film for Life 2019 is the third year of this Movie based fundraiser which raises much needed funds for Solas Cancer Care services in Waterford, Ireland. Last year I entered the Film for Life fundraiser and over 6 weeks rehearsing and filming we acted out a scene from a famous movie. Last year’s movie (Film for Life 2018) was “The Hangover” and I played Phil, the Bradley Cooper character. We eventually won “Best Film” at the Solas Cancer Care Film for Life 2018. At this stage I can truly say I have bitten the acting bug for sure.
I really enjoyed last year’s Film for Life and the fact that I was able to raise funds for a great cause. Therefore, I am doing Solas Film for Life again this year. The 2019 Film for Life saw me playing Hugh Grant’s role of Daniel Cleaver in Bridget Jones Diary. I filmed the scenes for this year’s movie on the 18th of May 2019 and the screening took place on Saturday 8th June 2019 at the Tower Hotel in Waterford.
All Film for Life donations regardless of size were taken online and everyone who gave to the Solas fundraising effeor has been credited on this page.

About Solas Cancer Care, Waterford
The Solas Cancer Support Centre offers free cancer support to those affected by cancer, their families and carers in the South East of Ireland. These cancer support services are available in their centre at Williamstown in Waterford City and in their West Waterford service based in the Alternative Health Clinic in Dungarvan. Solas Film For Life is one of the many ways this local cancer care and cancer support charity raises funds.
