QEII – The Very Best of Queen: UK Queen Tribute Band

QEII , the very best of Queen, is a UK tribute Band and one of the most popular. On their show sites, QEII say that they “aim to celebrate the wealth of talent that came together in Queen. By recreating, with breathtaking accuracy, the style and excitement of a LIVE Queen concert, which sadly, will never again be seen.“

The QEII website seems to be only a holding page so there is not much to tell, but keep their website bookmarked. Also, I’m not sure if the band are still operating due to the fact that the QEII domain names are up for sale. If you have any further information on this please do let us know

QEII Queen Tribute – Update as of 10th May 2021

On the 10th May 2021 we woke to the news that Mark ‘Tommo’ Thompson, a founder member of QEII, passed away suddenly at the age of 61.
Mark was the original lead singer of QEII and was also a skilled mould maker in the pottery industry.

Mark died in his sleep on April 17th after suffering through a series of health problems over the past 12 months.

QEII played 10 summer seasons in Blackpool at the Pleasure Beach and the North Pier and performed at a number of music festivals. They also played across Europe and their biggest gig, supporting Paul Young in the Netherlands, saw them play to 20,000 people.

Mark eventually decided to leave the QEII band in order to spend more time with his family and to concentrate more on his business.

May he rest in peace.
