Playing the Dmin guitar Chord is fairly easy with a bit of practice. You might find the stretch a bit unusual and getting the right fingers on the right strings might be a bit of a struggle, but it is a chord with knowing as it can crop up in songs in the keys of G or C.

The notes for D minor are D F and A so therefore if you play the chord for Dmin snd strum from the A string the notes you are playing are A D A D F in that order. The Dmin Guitar Chord is not very hard to play especially if you already know how to play the chord of D (or D Major). There are many songs which use the chord D minor. The basic Dm chord shape can be moved up and down the neck of the guitar; if your right hand only strikes the three highest strings and you move this position up by 2 frets it becomes an alternate version of Emin.

Note, since the thickest E string is not in the chord of D minor, this string should not be played.
