The N25 bridge in Waterford which will be the largest cable stay bridge in the Republic of Ireland is to open before November, possibly in late October. The bridge is currently being tested and having the road surfaces finalised and safety barriers installed – as soon as the bridge is completed a Community Day will precede the official opening of the new bridge which spans the River Suir at Granny and bypasses Waterford City completely. The Community Day will allow members of the public who were inconvenienced by the construction of the bridge and roads to actually walk the whole way across the new bridge.

The bridge will have a toll of 60c for motorbikes and €1.90 for cars – other higher tolls will apply to lorries and busses.

The bridge is an impressibve sight when entering and leaving the city and will be a great help to easing traffic in Waterford City.
