I am Shane McDonald, an experienced digital marketer with over 20 years experience in programming, online marketing and online technologies

My Background

My background is actually in C programming, and I worked for a few years in the mobile telecoms sector in Dublin. I took a year out to work for Sensis in Sydney, Australia, finally I moved into the area of web development. I ran my own web development and online marketing company for over 5 years before moving to my current role in digital marketing.

My Qualifications

My main qualifications are B.Sc in Commercial Software Development from Waterford Institute of Technology, as well as a Masters in Business Innovation and Entrepreneurship. I recently completed a Professional Diploma in Digital Marketing with the Digital Marketing Institute, as my current role is in area of e-commerce, digital marketing, and social media marketing.

My Interests

I enjoy photography & over the past few years have developed my skills in that area. I mainly shoot landscape but I also enjoy food, travel & event photography. I also enjoy music & in 2015 played on 2 stages at the Glastonbury festival and more recently I played 4 nights at Garter Lane Waterford for the Tramore M.S. production of ‘Rock of Ages’.
